On the 22^nd of January 2008 it was held the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Twinning project “Assisting the Main Control and Revision Office of Ukraine (KRU) in implementing a new system of Public Internal Financial Control”. Representatives of Swedish National Financial Management Authority,  the Main Control and Revision Office, the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Project Administrative Office and Implementation of Twinning Operations in Ukraine took part in the meeting. During the meeting it was summed up outcomes of the first quarter of the project implementation and it was outlined perspectives for the following period. For instance, during the reporting period it was compiled a report with propositions for improvement of developed by the MainCRO drafts of normative and legislative acts in the sphere of public internal financial control, it was developed a program of trainings planned for conducting within the framework of the project, it was compiled a form for assessment of their results and it was developed training material for some training courses.     

In his opening address the Chairman of the MainCRO Syvulskyi Mykola assured the present that the Government supported the initiated reforms in the sphere of public internal financial control, as a sound level of financial budget discipline in the state is a pledge of sound management of public finances and of successful development of the state economy.
