
On the third of
March 2010 the expert mission of representatives of the Inspectorate General of
Finance of the Portuguese Republic (hereafter – the IGF, the Inspection)
on issue of financial control – fight against financial machinations within the
framework of TAIEX project was held. Inspector-General Jose Maria Leite Martins and his Deputy Jose Antonio Viegas Ribeiro arrived to the MainCRO with the purpose to establish cooperation in a
sphere of inspection function modernization and its orientation on fight
against fraud in the financial sphere according to the best practice of EU.

Iskra emphasized the importance of the bilateral
cooperation between controlling authorities of Ukraine
and the Portuguese
Republic, especially in
the period of the economic crisis.
During the meeting
Parties presented the history of introduction of services, the specific of their
activities, forms and types of work in the sphere of public policy
implementation concerning financial-budgetary discipline improvement. Great
attention of participants was given to the question of organization of control
over use of public resources in Portugal,
allocated on conducting of Euro-2004 football championship. Participants
discussed features of organization of financing of the project by the state, a
system of such financing, role of the Inspection in carrying out of control
over use of public funds and project implementation.
At the
“round table” Ukrainian and Portuguese colleagues found much in common not only
in the daily work of authorities but also in their cooperation with other
controlling authorities of Ukraine
and Portugal.
Singing
of Memorandum of Understanding between the Main Control and Revision Office of
Ukraine and the Inspectorate General of Finance of the Portuguese Republic
for 2010-2012 became the result of such meeting.
In conclusion Ihor Iskra on behalf of the MainCRO and J.M. Leite Martins on
behalf of the IGF expressed readiness for further cooperation and presented the
greatest professional respect.
